Thank you for being a VIA! Learn more about the Lancaster County specialties you recently received in your gift box:

Wilbur Buds

The chocolate Wilbur Bud owes its name to an unexpected source — nature. Company founder H. O. Wilbur developed a process in 1894 that deposited chocolate into a solid flower bud shape, and inspiration was born.

Hammond's Pretzels & Mustard

Hammond Pretzel Bakery was started in 1931, during the Great Depression, by William Lichty and his grandfather, William Hammond. Their descendants still run the bakery today, where pretzels are hand rolled in limited quantities to ensure top quality.

Stroopies
 Stroopwafels

Stroopies started in 2008 with two goals: (1) to make quality stroopwafels like those found in Europe, and (2) to provide meaningful employment for refugees who’ve settled in Lancaster. Talk about a sweet mission!

Lancaster County Coffee Roasters Starbarn Blend

Lancaster County Coffee Roasters is a family-owned business constantly on the quest for the perfect cup of Joe. They source the best beans from around the world, then roast them perfectly here at home.

Fun Fact: The Star Barn is a historical restoration project B&D Builders worked on — and are continuously adding to — at Stone Gables Estate in Elizabethtown, PA.
You can check out that project here.

Stauffer’s Whoopie Pies

According to folklore, the name “whoopie pie” came from Amish men shouting “Whoopie!” upon finding these treats in their lunch boxes. Labadie’s Bakery in Lewiston, ME, was the first known commercial producer of whoopie pies in 1925. The ones you received are from a Lancaster County supermarket, Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill.

Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn
